Membership in the Genealogy Club is open to all Ann's Choice residents and provides access to Ancestry.com, library resources, help in researching genealogy and other benefits.

ANN’S CHOICE GENEALOGY CLUB

ORGANIZATIONAL GUIDELINES

                                                           

ARTICLE I:     NAME AND PURPOSE

            SECTION A.   NAME

The name of the organization shall be ANN’S CHOICE GENEALOGY CLUB and it shall generally be referred to as the “CLUB”.

            SECTION B.   PURPOSE

The CLUB’S purpose shall be to assist members to conduct genealogical research by

 providing access to genealogical resources and training in tools and techniques.

ARTICLE II:     MEMBERSHIP AND DUES

            SECTION A.   MEMBERSHIP

Upon payment of the annual dues, all residents of Ann’s Choice Retirement Community shall be eligible for CLUB membership for a period of one year. Members that paid their annual dues and abide by the organizational guidelines and practices of the CLUB are considered to be in good standing and eligible to renew their annual membership.

SECTION B.    PASSWORD AND LOG-ONS

Members agree not to share with others the passwords and log-ons to any of the CLUB’S provided on-line services.

            SECTION C.   DUES

                        The annual dues shall be determined each year by the                                  BOARD OF DIRECTORS.       

ARTICLE III:    BOARD OF DIRECTORS

            SECTION A.    COMPOSITION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The BOARD OF DIRECTORS, generally referred to as the “BOARD”, shall consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.

            SECTION B.    TERMS OF THE BOARD OF DIRCTORS

The President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer shall be elected by a majority vote of CLUB members, in good standing, present at a regularly scheduled or called meeting and they shall serve a term of approximately one year, beginning at the time of election and ending upon completion of the succeeding election.  They may be re-elected without any interruption of service.

            SECTION C.    DUTIES OF THE BOARD OF DIRCTORS AND                             OFFICERS

  1.  The BOARD shall be responsible for the administrative operation of the CLUB.
  2.  The President shall preside at all meetings of the CLUB and the Planning Committee.
  3.  The Vice-President shall act as President in the absence of, in-capacity of, or resignation of the President.
  4.  The Secretary shall record and maintain detailed records of all meetings and    conduct all written communications external to the CLUB.
  5.   The Treasurer shall record and periodically report all CLUB financial transaction, collect the annual dues, maintain a listing of CLUB members in good standing, and pay all of the CLUB’S approved financial obligations.

SECTION D.  BOARD OF DIRECTORS VACANCIES

When a BOARD vacancy occurs mid-term, the President or BOARD member succeeding to the duties of the President, in the absence of the President, shall solicit nominees from the CLUB’S membership to fill the vacancy.  A vacancy shall only be filled to the end of the vacant member’s term.  The BOARD must vote to approve any such replacement to the office. 

ARTICLE IV:  PLANNING COMMITTEE

            SECTION A.   COMPOSITION AND DUTIES OF THE PLANNING                        COMMITTEE

1.   The PLANNING COMMITTEE shall consist of the BOARD, a Communications Director, a Program Director, a Publicity Director and such other CLUB members as may be appointed by the President from time to time for specific duties. 

2.   The PLANNING COMMITTEE shall determine the                          presentation for all meetings.

            SECTION B.  DUTIES OF THE COMMUNICATION DIRECTOR

The Communication Director shall maintain good relations with the CLUB’S provided on-line services and shall publish the Gen-A-Gram.

SECTION C.  DUTIES OF THE PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The Program Director shall identify potential meeting presentations.

SECTION D. DUTIES OF THE PUBLICITY DIRECTOR

The Publicity Director shall be responsible for advertising CLUB meetings to the Ann’s Choice Community.

ARTICLE V:   CLUB MEETINGS

The CLUB shall normally meet in the months of February, May,                    October and December and at such other times throughout the year            as the Planning Committee shall designate. The December meeting              shall be the Annual Meeting for the purpose of conducting elections              and other BOARD approved business.

 ARTICLE VI:    ORGANIZATIONAL GUIDELINE’S MODIFICATION OR                  CHANGES

These ORGANIZATIONAL GUIDELINES may be modified or                        changed at any time by a majority vote of  the BOARD.
